Without doubt the most musically promiscuous festival yet with everyone changing partners
and enjoying harmonic interaction. It was not without problems, Clive Gregson had to call in sick and missed the fun, BJ Cole's pedal steel didn't surviive the flight from England and the baggage handlers at La Rochelle and some of the performers didn't manage to play when and as expected due to time restrictions. However we managed to find a replacement pedal steel for BJ thanks to Jean-Michel who drove down from Nantes with one, just in time for the Temple concert on Friday and those who didn't get to play when expected did where unexpected.

To the accords class of 2008,

To all of you involved in this year’s festival my heart and soul-felt thanks, we proved that last year wasn’t third time lucky and that we really do have
“a good thing going”.

It was nothing less than a succession of highlights
with pretty much 100% interaction between the participants,
which was only to be expected but not necessarily a given.
You all gave a lot and I have the impression you received
a great deal in return.

The hospitality was even better than in previous years (which is saying something) the transport teams ensured that everyone got from a to b to c without undue delay, the weather may have threatened from time to time but never came down to earth and miracle of miracles we managed to find a replacement pedal steel for BJ Cole.

Some of you may not have got to play as much as expected or when scheduled, but timings ‘caused technical tension on the main stage and this forced us to curtail and customise some of the sets.
Regrettable but somewhat out of my control I’m afraid.

Absent for health reasons Clive Gregson didn’t make the gig,
let’s make a date for next year.
