Throughout the two days and nights of the festival the musicians had
the opportunity of interacting with each other in a semi-spontaneous manner.
The results were quite extraordinary considering most of them had never met before.
From the list of interactive performers above you can get a pretty good idea of who was playing around.
The common threads and mutual appreciation that existed between all of the musicians assembled ensured that with the minimum of rehearsal they were able to sit in with each other and perform works from their respective repertoires.
Rodolphe Burger, for example, had for some time expressed a desire to work with David Thomas and he was delighted to learn that David (though not aware of Rodolphe's prolific output of diverse styles) was intrigued by the idea of this original and unexpected collaboration. BJ Cole, whose session credits could fill a phone book, played on Boo Hewerdine's first album when he was with Cambridge based band "The Bible" and sessioned with Hugh Cornwell during the Stranglers years. Hugh had prepared a specical set for the festival and eagerly incorporated Clare, Geraint and BJ into his show.
That was the intent and spirit of the first Rochefort en Accords and I was delighted

to have been able to assemble such a talented and generous group of musicians.
