"a Bromberg concert can be a musical education"

105 rue du faubourg du Temple Paris 10

david bromberg went to greenwich village in the mid '60s leaving "tarrytown" long before steely dan immortalized the place. some studying at columbia university and lots of playing in the village coffee houses resulted in him playing alongside of
dylan (new morning & self portrait) ringo starr, the eagles, jay and the americans,
chubby checker, ritchie havens, jerry garcia, jerry jeff walker, carly simon
willie nelson, mississippi john hurt, maybe suzanne vega and link wray
- just to mention a few.
an extraordinarily fluent and gifted guitar player he also manages quite well on the violin
(as ideed he should seeing as how he makes and sells them)
i don't know if he's ever played in paris before, but i doubt it, so this will be a unique
opportunity to catch this amusing reconteur and almost legendary figure in concert.
sharing the bill will be the no less talented, if slightly less legendary, darden smith
who you may well have seen here in the sound gallery or at la java.
two great players, songwriters and voices together for a very special evening.
