On n'avait pas vu Hugh Cornwell en France depuis son passage remarqué au festival Rochefort en Accords en août 2005. Le revoici à Paris où il n'avait pas joué depuis 8 ans (Hôtel du Nord décembre 1998). Depuis qu'il a quitté les Stranglers en 1990, il a pleinement profité d'une grande liberté d'expression pour se consacrer à une carrière solo, l'écriture de son autobiographie et de musiques de film ainsi qu’à des apparitions en tant que comédien à la télévision. Avec plus de 6 albums solo à son actif, dont le dernier "Beyond Elysian Fields" a été produit à la Nouvelle Orléans et à New York par Tony Visconti et avec la participation de Danny Kadar (My Morning Jacket), Hugh Cornwell continue à se renouveler tout en revisitant de vieux succès tels que « Peaches », « Golden Brown », « Grip 89», « Always The Sun » ou encore « Strange Little Girl » récemment repris par Tori Amos. Ce concert avec son nouveau groupe clôturera une tournée européenne pour promouvoir son nouveau disque « The Dirty Dozen » et sera une rare opportunité de voir un musicien qui a fait un parcours quasi parfait, tout comme Richard Thompson qui était guitariste dans son premier groupe Emil & The Detectives

shhh.. don't let the neighbours hear us After leaving the Stranglers early in the '90's Hugh has released several solo albums, the most recent of which "Guilty" received rave reviews from music press including Q and Mojo. He has sporadically given solo plugged / unplugged concerts in England but has been absent from France for almost a decade. part from a test in Bristol this was the first ever solo acoustic show by the ex Strangler.
A unique experience that had hares standing on the back of their necks.
